Tim Schaefer is a versatile multi-instrumentalist with a vision to help students reach their musical goals.  He enjoys giving students the tools they need to start a band, prepare for college or simply have fun playing their favorite tunes.  Tim plays and teaches guitar, violin, mandolin, ukulele, singing, piano, bass and harmonica.

Tim’s musical stylings are as diverse and numerous as the instruments he plays and extend to rock, blues, folk, bluegrass, reggae, worship, classical, and jazz.  He strives to combine all of these styles and instruments into a unique musical blend.

Tim Schaefer focuses much of his musical energies writing, singing and gigging in his band Red Wood Rising, which can be seen performing all over Oklahoma and across the U.S.  In Boston they were a featured performing group at SoulFest alongside Jars of Clay and Newsboys.  The band released their first full length album titled “I Can Change” in February 2013 and followed that up with their sophomore release “These Fires” in 2015.  Both albums can be found on iTunes.  Red Wood Rising has performed with national touring artists including Blitzen Trapper, The Mowglis, and Ben Taylor (son of legendary musician James Taylor).

Mr. Schaefer earned a bachelors degree in Guitar Performance from Oral Roberts University and a masters degree from the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in Jazz Studies with an emphasis in music production.  While at UCO, he recorded and produced his first solo album “Troubadour.”  Tim is fluent in Pro Tools and Logic and records projects from his home studio.

Tim is happily married to Grace Schaefer who performs and teaches piano and flute.  The couple performs their original music in the Tulsa area as the duo folk band “Fool me Twice.”
